Group Nature Collage Practice

What matters most isn’t the artistic outcome itself, but the experience: being out in nature, reflecting on the theme, and engaging in the collective creative process.

Group outing in nature, taking the time to breathe and relax.
Invite participants to collect materials that speak to them (leaves, wood shavings, branches, soil, feathers, …).

Examples from this session with a group of young people.

Materials chosen and why + theme defined by the group:

  • Bamboo stems: bend but do not break
  • Plant moss: soft, protective, resilient
  • White stones: solid and durable, useful for drainage
  • Gravel: resistant
  • Bamboo leaves: light and harmonious
  • Green or red tree leaves: constantly changing, symbols of renewal.

The background design chosen and drawn by the participants: Pachamama (a South American deity), the Earth goddess, source of life and culture (agricultural).
Her neck is made of roots spreading everywhere across and beneath the earth.
Her hair is the green of nature (especially connected to the Amazon rainforest).
Her tears are tears of joy, the source of rivers and streams, feeding her
roots and watering the fauna and flora.
