Work in progress.
The evolution of a drawing born from grief.
Every detail matters.
The loss of a loved one is a long journey.
I pour my rage and memories into it.
To honor his life and legacy.

The illustration will depict the brain tumor — a glioblastoma, symbolized by the monster — that took my father’s life. A giant insect, covered in metastases emerging from their cocoons, is laced with invasive branches that envelop the symbol of medicine — powerless at this stage. The image also features his brain, the four intracranial injections he endured, his life curve, his birth and death dates written in Roman numerals (in reference to his Italian origins), and his heart — emptied, stripped of all strength.
